December and January have been a whirlwind of progress and anticipation. Since opening applications last month, we’ve seen a huge interest from students. Reading about their stories and hopes for the coming year has genuinely moved me. It’s a humble reminder of how important this opportunity is going to be in the lives of so many students.
We’ve now reached the stage where we have enough applicants to begin reviewing submissions, praying for wisdom as we discern who will join our first community.
The building continues to rise - slowly but surely! Watching the progress is both thrilling and a lesson in patience. It's hard to believe that what you see in this photo - wood, concrete and scaffolding will soon become a home for students.
The transformation underway at Pax House is more than just physical; it’s about building a place where students can thrive together. Research consistently shows that strong social connections and intentional community living significantly benefit young adults.
As Pax House continues to grow, we've begun recruiting the next key member of our team: Director of Student Life. This person will have a vital role in shaping the student experience, fostering deep community, and supporting both spiritual and personal development.
Join me in praying for clarity and discernment as we finalize student selections, and peace as we navigate timelines and prepare for opening day.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” – Psalm 127:1
