A Community Taking Shape
As we move toward Pax House’s opening this September, we’re delighted to share how our community is coming together. Below you’ll find an update on registration, an introduction to our new Director of Student Life, and key milestones to look for in May.
Registration Status Update
We have been overwhelmed—in the best way—by the response to Pax House, with over 280 registrations for our 104 available rooms. Demand has exceeded our capacity.
All rooms have now been offered and accepted, so registration will close on April 27.
If a student withdraws and a room becomes available, we will send an offer to someone on the waitlist. Offers are based on current needs and available space, not a numbered position.
If you are still looking for housing, we encourage you to check back on June 1, 2026. At that time, we will reassess availability once university admissions decisions are finalized. If any spaces become available, applications will reopen.

Introducing Our Director of Student Life
We are thrilled to announce that Holly Bishu has joined Pax House as our Director of Student Life, starting April 27, 2026.
Holly brings experience in student-focused leadership in Christian post-secondary and community-based settings, as well as youth and family ministry leadership in Canada and the U.S.
Holly is a relationally skilled leader who endeavors to build strong relationships with students and create spaces where people feel safe, seen, and respected.
In the coming weeks, Holly will begin reaching out to new student residents with welcome information as we prepare for move-in and orientation.
We are confident her leadership will help establish the intentional community culture that will define Pax House.
What to Expect in May
In May, you can expect the following updates:
- RA Program and Student Committees: If you indicated interest in the RA program, Holly will email you by the end of May with next steps and selection details. She will also share student committee opportunities.
- Student Work Opportunities: We will share information by the end of May.
- Waitlist Updates: If a room opens due to a withdrawal, we will send offers to the waitlist.
- New Student Welcome: Accepted students will begin receiving welcome emails as we prepare for move-in and orientation in late August and early September.
Thank you for your patience as we work through these steps in our inaugural year. For security, please note that official messages will come from a paxhouse.ca email address
Looking Ahead to September
We are preparing Pax House to welcome our first cohort of students this September. Our vision is a place where students are rooted in tradition, connected to place, and supported as they grow.
The rhythms of daily life—eating, studying, praying, and playing—will bring people together in meaningful ways. Over time, shared space can become shared purpose. Thank you for being part of this exciting beginning.
